25 Years of Experience as a Domestic Relations Judge
Judge Rosemary Chambers retired from her post as a domestic relations judge after twenty-five years of service. During her twenty-five years, Judge Chambers handled cases exclusively related to Domestic Relations, including divorce judgments, alimony, child custody, division of complicated assets and debt and contempt and modification proceedings.
During her tenure as judge, Chambers instituted a court-ordered referral program, "Helping Children Cope With Divorce," to improve parental communication for the benefit of their children. Chambers also assisted in the development of supervised visitation programs. Judge Chambers was appointed by the Alabama Supreme Court to serve on special committee of judges to improve courts handling domestic relations and child support issues. Chambers was also appointed to special task force to help create divorce mediation guidelines. Appointed in 1992, Judge Chambers was the first state or federal female judge in Mobile County Alabama. |
Qualifications: Judge Chambers is admitted to the practice of law before all State and Appellate Courts in the State of Alabama, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Judge Chambers has been a certified mediator since 2000 and is a frequent lecturer on divorce law. She is specially trained in Divorce and Family Mediation, Advanced Divorce Mediation and Domestic Violence Mediation. She is registered with the Alabama ADR organization as a Mediator and as a Private Judge.
